Mittlerweile haben wir die Zeitverschiebung verkraftet und sind um halb 6, kurz vor Sonnenaufgang, auf den Beinen. Wir haben eine Querung von 35km vor uns und rechnen mit 7Std. Als wir unsere Boote am Strand laden, sind auch alle Dorfbewohner wach und schauen interessiert zu. Wir verabschieden uns, bedanken uns für die Gastfreundschaft und legen ab. Zunächst paddeln wir durch Augsburger-Puppenkisten-Wellen, aber als wir aus der Abdeckung der Insel kommen, werden die Wellen erstaunlich hoch und mal ist der Eine, mal der Andere von uns in einem Wellental komplett verschwunden. (Elke) Ich habe das Essen nicht vertragen und spucke alles aus, dann gehts. Nach 7 Stunden sind wir auf einer kleinen Insel gelandet.
By now we got over the time shift and are able to get up at 6am. Just before sunrise. We have a crossing of 35km ahead of us. For that we estimate 7 hours. As we pack our kayaks at the beach the villagers come over to say goodbye. So we thank them for their hospitality and take off. At first we’re paddling through flat water until we reach the end of the island coverage. The waves get bigger and bigger and from time to time one can’t see the other one due to the sea. (Elke) I for myself couldn’t hold the food in so after getting that out of the way I could bear the trip. After 7 hours we strand on a small island.
