Definitiv / Definitely

Heute morgen meldet sich Sharons Mann, der in Honiara darauf wartet hier her zukommen, dass die Cosco heute endlich betankt wird und Sonntag früh starten soll. Das wäre für uns die allerbeste Option, endlich weiter zukommen. Wir entspannen uns ein bißchen und brechen zu einem Spaziergang auf, bei dem wir einmal mehr spüren, wie anstrengend die tropische Hitze ist. Nachmittags holen wir unsere Kajaks von dem Frachter “Rusa“ herunter und lagern sie nebenan in der Polizeistation zwischen. Die Rückerstattung des Fahrpreises gestaltet sich allerdings schwierig, da die Crew das Geld schon ausgegeben hat. Abends meldet sich Sharons Mann und bestätigt, das die “Cosco“ bereit zum Auslaufen ist und definitiv morgen früh um 9:00 starten wird – was auch immer “definitiv“ in den Salomonen heißt!

This morning Sharon’s husband rings and tells us that the Cosco is being filled up with gas today and is supposedly taking off Sunday morning. He himself is waiting to get back from Honiara with the Cosco. For us this is good news and we can’t wait any longer to continue with our trip. We relax for a while an then head of to go for a walk. Along the way we feel the tiring tropical heat once again. In the afternoon we collect our kayaks from the freighter „Rusa“ and store them in the nearby police station. The refund of our tickets proves to be quite difficult since the crew has already spent all the money. In the evening Sharon’s husband calls again and tells us that the Cosco is ready for departure and definitely takes off in the morning at 9AM – whatever „definitely“ is supposed to mean in the Solomons!
